I've been a news junkie for a while, but I've been very disappointed in the sources I used to count on. CNN, NBC, CBS, etc. seem too timid and standardized, and I find them suspect.
Jon Stewart and the Daily Show, with the occasional Colbert Report keep me as up to date as I need to be.
For entertainment, South Park, The Simpsons and the Independent Film Channel provie the full spectrum of styles and genre. You can't go wrong with Xena reruns and The Wire.
The best movie ever made was South Pacific. .
I spend a few hours on the internet every day, mostly in Tech Support forums, but I check out Andrew Sullivan, Huffington Post, Drudge, Ars Technica and Wonkette most days.
